Located in Lynnwood, the Workforce Re-Employment Center (WRC) expands the capacity of the WorkSource systems ensuring there is space and resources to accommodate affected workers while still providing quality services to the overall community.
The WRC is staffed by Boeing Peer Workers, Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Career Specialists, and Trade Adjustment Assistance Case Managers.
A Boeing Peer Worker – an individual who was previously laid off from Boeing (either voluntarily or in-voluntarily) who now assists other dislocated workers, providing information on layoff resources such as Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA or Trade Act) and the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA). Peer Workers understand the difficulties and emotions that come with being laid-off and can assist their peers in discovering the exciting opportunities that lay ahead.
Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) – a law designed to provide funding to help job seekers access employment, education, training, and support services to succeed in the labor market and to match employers with the skilled workers they need to compete in the global economy.
Trade Adjustment Act (TAA) – a federal program of the United States government to act as a way to reduce the damaging impact of imports felt by certain sectors of the U.S. economy.
